As a Colorado native there comes a natural zest for life in the outdoors. Hiking, biking, snowboarding, and camping are just a few activities that inspired the desire to becoming a massage therapist.

After sustaining a serious work injury and then a snowboarding injury months later, recovery came from using chiropractors and physical therapy. That is what  inspired the desire to go to school to become a massage therapist. It was time to harness the power of choice and going to school for massage therapy became part of the healing path. What better place to work ideally. A relaxed setting that inspires well being and health to those who need to keep going. It can get scary when you have become injured and have a job that can become affected by that injury. It was easy to want to become part of a solution through massage.

Being hired at SpaStruck in Beaver Creek, Colorado could only be the start to fulfilling many dreams. The luxury working next to a ski village while starting a new career who could ask for more? Working on skiers with fresh injuries in a spa setting was the reminder that massage is medical not just a luxury. As much as one could love being in such a luxurious setting in wasn't fulfilling the need to heal.

Coming back to Longmont, Colorado and being more medical based as a practice has become highly rewarding. Practicing massage since 2012, the results for clients have made the personal journey more meaningful as there is a deeper understanding to how the initial pain came to be present. At the end of the day helping educate each person on how to better their well being through structural awareness has been the most rewarding part of being a therapist.

Being a massage therapist I've not only been able to help out my clients feel better in their daily lives but I've also discovered the freedom to be able to volunteer at the Longmont Humane Society. That has been the most wonderful journey. It's important to strenghten your community. For me, volunteer work for something you are passionate about is rewarding, not only for you and your health, but those you are helping.
